Home town

Hey everybody, Anyone want to get a conversation going with a Hailey local?

Home town

I was researching Hailey and noticed your post. We are planning a motorcycle trip to your area in September and are thinking of staying at the Ellsworth Inn for one night. My questions are: 1. Is there a good dinner restaurant within walking distance of the Inn?

2. Or would we better of staying in Ketchum? We have never been to this part of Idaho, therefore the questions. Hope you can help.

Thanks!

Home town

All most all the resturants in Hailey are walkable. Very small town. Good eats. Staying in Hailey vs KEtchum, what do you want???KEtchum is larger, with more to do and Hailey is quaint and much smaller. Give me some ideas on what you are interested in%26gt;%26gt;enjoy

Thanks Charley for the information on Hailey. We are just staying one night on our way to Jackson, Wyoming, so therefore we will not have much time for activities. Hailey, sounds perfect...walkable and quaint. We do enjoy good food and a relaxing restaurant. Any suggestions?

depending on the kind of food you like. i like really good food, and for that i suggest CK.s. Never been there, they wouldn%26#39;t hire me , too old they said !!! really) after my resturant closed, but the food is excellent. If you want something cheaper, there is a great thai place , called the Taste Of THai on main street. We have been to THailand 2 times, and this is really good. let me know if you need any other suggestions. enjoy

Hi Charley,

Thank you for the info on CK%26#39;s. Yes, we like really good, well prepared food. Should I make reservations ahead of time? Just curious what type of restaurant did you have?

I worked for the longest resturant to be in business in Ketchum, Warm Springs Ranch,,, i worked there for 16 years... A very sad and long story about the closing...

I would always make resos,,,,i like to know that they knowthat i am coming...meaning, maybe they are closed for a special eveining, what ever, i ALWAYS MAKE RESO, EVEN IN SLACK.

There are a lot of great resturants in Ketchum, as well. For lunch, ( i work for her as a caterer) , go to Cristinas, love her food.

Let me know what ever else are interested in.

We have lovely hot springs as well, but at the moment, my friends are being evacuated for a fire...this is devistating and wonder what is going to happen....enjoy

We will be in Hailey/Sun Valley July 3 and July 4 on our way from SF to Missoula with our two kids (age 12). Any thoughts on where to stay? I%26#39;ve heard good things about the Ellsworth Inn. What about Wood River Inn? Do you think Hailey will be out of control noisy, etc due to the rodeo (which sounds like a ton of fun -we%26#39;re planning to go). What will Sun Valley be like during this holiday weekend - we%26#39;re not a super tourist-y town type of family...

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hailey would be fun, but would rather stay in KEtchum. I want to tell anyone that i had the worst dinner at CKS for the second time. I won%26#39;t get into it...but for the money, there are plenty of other spots.

enjoy.

1. What is CKS?

2. Where would you recommend for hotel/lodging in Ketchum?
