My wife and I plan on visiting in the first week of August. We love to bike and inline skate, so I was wondering, which are the best and most conveniently located hotels to the Centennial Trail? Thanks for your help!
Going in August
Holiday Inn Express at 2300 West Seltice Way, about $175.00 a night in the summer, about a year old and gets great reviews. Centennial Trail is right across the street, you can see people on the trail from this hotel.

In addition to the Holiday Inn Express, a new Hampton Inn opened in the same general area of town (Riverstone area) as the Holiday Inn Express. At the other end of town where the trail begins to follow the lake a La Quinta Inn is located on Sherman Ave (not the La Quinta located on Appleway).
Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn are both great choices. If I had to choose one, I%26#39;d go with the new Hampton Inn (I haven%26#39;t stayed in either). You can%26#39;t beat the location (even though the two hotels are very close to each other) for the Hampton Inn. You%26#39;re right next to a park with a small lake/pond, restaurants, movie theatre, and of course the Centennial Trail. You%26#39;re also just a little bit closer to the downtown area and the resort and even though it%26#39;s only a short distance the access in and out is much easier. You%26#39;re also closer to the river if you happen to get a river view room.
Either hotel you choose, you%26#39;ll love this city in August. It%26#39;s hot, but who cares.... it%26#39;s lively, quaint and full of lots of entertaining things to do.
The first of August is also the time when they have the downtown street fair, Taste of the Coeur d Alenes and the Art on the Green show. This brings huge crowds to downtown... So, this may be a time to plan for or avoid depending on your point of view.
p.s. I agree with the previous posters about the hotel choices. These would be the best, but there are cheaper ones, although not as nice or convenient, if you want.
Depends on what your budget is...You may want to go upper class and stay at the Coeur d%26#39;Alene Resort. It is really nice. The prices range from $169 - $2,500.

Wherever you stay - in whatever price range, the centennial trail should be accessible. So, it won%26#39;t take more than 10 - 15 minutes to drive, park and ride.
So far everyone%26#39;s advice is perfect. Just in case if you need cheaper accomodations you can stay at any of the hotels in Post Falls, and ride the trail from that end over, also you can stay anywhere in Coeur d%26#39;Alene, I recommend people take a spot in the aprk and tide, and bike from there.
