Bozeman/Big Sky - Idaho Falls - Jackson Hole in Nov

We%26#39;re two women in our 20%26#39;s who want to try to visit 3 states in 7 days. Right now our schedule only allows for us to visit the second week of Nov. Will the weather be a challenge for a road trip and/or for hiking during the day? I know parts of Yellowstone close in early Nov, but will we be able to see any of the park at that time of year? Any suggestions of the order for our trip... fly into Bozeman and out of Jackson Hole or vice versa.

Thanks in advance for your help!

HI

Yes the weather could be a challenge it could be beautiful fall weather even a late indian summer or it could be a full out blizzard.

too early for the ski resorts to be open thanksgiving is usually the earlyist they open

and could still be hunting season in some area%26#39;s but not inside yellowstone

If hiking prepare for the worst early winer storms can come in really fast and strand you in the mountians.

not trying to scare you just being truthful

I never drive in the mountians after sept without food water and camping supplys to survive in sub zero weather if stuck in snow storm or a slide off.

Luckily we have been able to reschedule our trip to the end of October instead, so hopefully we can see more of Yellowstone. We are planning on staying in Idaho Falls for one night. Any hotel suggestions or things/places to see while we%26#39;re in town?

do you really have to spend the night in IF???what is your itinerary??enjoy

Ouch! Geez charley48, go easy on Idaho Falls wouldja!? Admittedly we%26#39;re not as cool Sun Valley or Twin or even Boise - but we do have lots of hotels and some good restaurants for those passing through.

If you%26#39;re staying downtown (on the river) I%26#39;d recommend the Brownstone Brew Pub, Wasabi%26#39;s (Japanese) or the WhiteWater Grill for lunch or dinner. The first two have nice views of the falls, and the WhiteWater is across the street from Vina Rosa, a nice wine bar with a wide selection of imports, domestics and beers (and usually have a live band Thu - Sat). If you like divey places (i.e. cheap) I can recommend those, too.

In deference to charley, I%26#39;ll have to agree that there isn%26#39;t a whole lot ';touristy'; to do here. Craters of the Moon and EBR1 are kinda educational (and a loooong hour to hour-and-a-half drive away). Bear World (a drive-through zoo sort of place) is just up the road in Rexburg. Mountain River Ranch (in Ririe) has wagon ride (in the summer), and sleigh ride (in the winter) dinner theater - but I think you%26#39;re going to be here between seasons. Check: www.mountainriverranch.com

Hope you enjoy your trip.

WHAT I MEANT WAS there are so many cute towns , not that IF isn%26#39;t, but really nice towns on the way there. that is all....I would opt to stay in Henrys fork or somewhere like that....enjoy
