I have the oppportunity to visit Sun Valley late September but I%26#39;m not fimiliar with the area. What is there to see/do for a long 4 day weekend visit for a 41 year old couple? I%26#39;m not sure what the weather is like or which outdoor activites might be available. I%26#39;d love any advice/suggestions!
What to do in Sun Valley late September?Late September is absolutely gorgeous in the Idaho mountains. The leaves will have changed colors and the days will be Autumn summer weather... cold and crisp in the morning and warm and sunny in the afternoons. Just being outside will be wonderful. I%26#39;d suggest a trip 60 miles north up through the Sawtooth Mountains. Stop at Alturas Lake, Pettit Lake and Redfish Lake (Redfish is the biggest, with beautiful sandy beaches) to stroll along the lakes or have a picnic.
Enjoy the shops of Ketchum (1 mile from Sun Valley) and Sun Valley. There are several very good restaurants in the area as well. Have a great trip!
What to do in Sun Valley late September?there are plenty of things to do at that time of year. i am an avid hiker and you can still go into the back country, via redfish lake or other trail heads. mountain biking on the many, and i mean many , trails. And the weather is variable, after living here for 30 years. usually, (what is usual???) the days will be very warm, around 60 or 70 (and at 6,000 feet, that is warm) and then it will drop to the 30%26#39;s at night, late night.I have gardens and know that at that time, they are starting to end.
Driving to the lakes, Red fish, Alturis and Petit are wonderful , take your lunch. Stanley is a dirt road, old mining/gambleing town. Great history and charm, and the view of the Sawtooths, breathtaking.
There are also lots of hot springs. and other info???enjoy
