Looking to relocate need some help, please.

We are thinking of relocating to the northern part of Idaho (Sandpoint/Coeur d%26#39; Alene area) from Bend, Oregon. We have looked around a bit and it seems Northern Idaho is the place we are most interested. It seems to have the relaxed, community oriented life style we are looking for (I grew up in small town eastern oregon so community is very important).

Is it hard to find a job? I have a degree in Business and I am the Director or Marketing and Web Master for a vacation rental/real estate company in Sunriver (resort community south of Bend.).

My girlfriend is a Program Coordinator for the Camp Fire council here in Bend. She is good at what she does and is interested at staying in the non-profit sector.

Any advice would be super.

Thank you...

Currently the job market is pretty good in the Coeur d%26#39; Alene - Sandpoint region. What most newcomers find is that the pay scale is lower than other areas such as California and Seattle area. Coeur d%26#39; Alene and Sandpoint are different job markets. Living in Coeur d%26#39; Alene allows one to commute into Spokane for potential jobs so there tend to be more and a wider variety of opportunities working out of Coeur d%26#39; Alene than Sandpoint. Job opportunities in Sandpoint used to be limited but there have been a number of growing companies in Sandpoint which have increased opportunities. Schweitzer Skie area has changed more into a destination resort which has increased employment, also Coldwater Creek, Litehouse Foods, Intermountain Community Bank are all headquartered in Sandpoint. The communities are both growing rapidly and have been ';discovered'; via news articles in a number of national news outlets. Sandpoint probably retains more of a smaller community feel to it than Coeur d%26#39; Alene, although car traffic in Sandpoint in the summer can be a bit of a challenge. Both communities are very supportive of community cultural activities and non profits.
