I had a strong urge this past weekend to take my daughter on a drive away from Boise. We eventually didn%26#39;t do it, nothing to look forward to that couldn%26#39;t be done in the local pool, except further review exposes that we both thrashed our toes in there. Weather forecasts indicate that it%26#39;s probably too late in the season to take a dip in the Payette, so anyone near one of those hot spring pools in the area beware... we%26#39;ll be coming soon.
In the midst of that, I ended up with a two-part question in mind. Where could I take my daughter within a 3-hour drive that she%26#39;d like? Inevitably, when I take an excursion on my own, where%26#39;s an obviously more adult place to go?
She favors ice cream... and she%26#39;s liked Crowley%26#39;s in Twin Falls (the OLD soda fountain shoppe) and Grinde%26#39;s in Mountain Home (converted Dairy Queen), both places where the food other than the ice cream is best described as secondary. (Grinde%26#39;s probably puts out a good burger or two, I guess) Anything along those lines in other towns, even better?
I%26#39;ve heard people talk about The Mill in McCall, I remember some of Charley%26#39;s suggestions in the Sun Valley area, and I still haven%26#39;t made it to Prasai%26#39;s in Twin. Suggestions?
Restaurants Outside Boise
Let me refine something here. When it comes to places to take my daughter, I%26#39;ll let ';3 hours'; include Pocatello, especially since she likes to stay in the Holiday Inn there. For ME, someone who calls 400 miles a ';short trip,'; I%26#39;ll consider anything in state.
