River Rafting late July/early August

Family of 4 (';kids'; are 20 and 17 year old boys) - we have only one week available for a trip this year, and it%26#39;s the last week of July/first week of August. We want to go white water rafting, and have been looking at 3-5 day trips in the Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon in Utah, and Snake River in Idaho. Grand Canyon is so far our preferred trip, but I am afraid of beastly hot weather in the Grand Canyon at this time of year. Any advice on our best options between July 29 and August 5? Any experience rafting the Arizona river in the Grand Canyon at this time of year - am I being overly concerned about being able to enjoy the trip due to weather extremes?

HI

being in Idaho we are the White Water Capital I prefer rafting here

Late July August you will have low flows and hot weather on any river I have never floated the Grande Canyon but it always looks hot and the water muddy. but it is water if you get hot just jump in LOL

check out the middle fork of the Salmon River it goes through wilderness. it is called the'; river of no return ';.. same river Lewis and Clark came down in 1805. the water is clear and it is a trip you will remember your entire life.

Middle Fork is often very low by this time of year. Consider also the Lower salmon, out of Riggins, which then flows into the Snake. More volume, still nice though clearly not as special as the middle fork.
