Not sure on long term RV parks near nature, their is a nice long term park here in Coeur d%26#39; Alene - Blackwell Island RV Park (www.idahorvpark.com) that is adjacent to the Spokane River, close to downtown Coeur d%26#39; Alene and the lake(one downside is its across river from operating saw mill). A very nice area and good campground (but not necessarily for long term stay) is Priest Lake State Park - Indian Creek Site (…idaho.gov/parks/priestlake.aspx) which has large RV sites, some with electricity. Priest Lake is probably the best lake in North Idaho for getting close to nature. For gold panning in this area you probably have to go to the Silver Valley (Kellogg - Wallace, Idaho). Not sure if there is a gold panning operation, there is a silver mine tour (silverminetour.org). There was some gold mining in the Silver Valley around Pritchard and Murray on the Coeur d%26#39; Alene River (also there are several great USFS campgrounds on the River) but most mining in this area is underground and for silver/lead. The parks and campgrounds are usually in full operation starting with Memorial Day weekend.

thank you for takeing the time to help me out.

i stayed in pierce idaho about 25 years ago for

the months of june and july. done a lot of trout

fishing and panning gold

but of course things have changed after 25 year.

sure enjoyed it.

If you were in Pierce 25 years ago you may be surprised to learn that it is almost exactly the same, maybe a little smaler and more retired folks. Clearwater County is still the jewel of Idaho. The Orofino area now has a number of long term RV spots, and even in town you are close to nature. By the way, if you haven%26#39;t been here for 25 years, you will be very surprised in Orofino. Still the same size, but very much cleaned up with a large retired population, and a true vacation destination. But if the cities and lakes up north with million dollar houses from one shore to the other and wall to wall people interest you then our clean air and wild spaces are not for you. Still no shopping malls. Only world class trout steelhead and small mouth bass fishing, miles and miles of pristine rivers and back country. And even some gold panning is possible. RV camping is available at 2 places on Dworshak Reservoir with full hook ups, and 4 other places with out hook ups, some of the sites are free. Ahsahka offers 2 RV sites with full hook ups. Orofino offers 4 in town with hook ups and a couple more without, most on the river. Let me know if I can be any help with the Clearwater Country.

Greetings! A great little park in north central idaho (halfway between Boise and Coeur D%26#39;Alene) is Swiftwater RV Park on the banks of the Salmon River. It%26#39;s very clean (the restrooms), and they always have some fishermen staying there because of the great fishing (salmon, bass, and even sturgeon). Walking, wildlife, birds, sunshine, willow trees, and the marvelous Salmon River it%26#39;s nice. Think they now have a website (www.swiftwaterrv.com).
