I ask this question in response to your offer on the Istanbul forum, but thought you might not go back there. As I mentioned on the Istanbul Forum, we are currently in Washington and are going to Idaho to see family.
I want to make reservations at a restaurant in your area, but cannot remember the name of it. I thought it was Warm Springs something or other, but can only find a hotel with Warm Springs Inn. It is down and west of Ketchum town center. It is a log cabin, I think. There is a little pond outside, and when you enter you walk right into the bar. They serve great steaks, seafood, and some special type of potato. Do you recognize it? Do they still take reservations?
On similar topic, how early do you think we will have to arrive to eat East Brunch in the Lodge. I know they will not take reservations?
Question for Charley48?
How funny and sad that you ask about Warm Springs Ranch resturant, i worked there for 16 years. It is toooooooooo long of a story, but in a nut shell, Mama Lu had her son, Mike (loved him) and then her husband die. She had the place for sale, a horrible man, in rehad, and bankruptsy court put a downpayment on the place. A very rich man, and his cohorts, who all bowed out when it got rough, bought it out from underneath him a few days before the final day. Mama Lu was out of it, no law suit for her. They battled for 2 years, 20 million dollars and (there is so much more, it would take days) and on the brink of it all, the rehab, bankrupt man found someone to buy it for him . It is still in limbo and we all think the rats have taken over. I hear daily that they are opening...no way and don%26#39;t think it will ever happen. I was really involved there and i could cry at the drop of a hat. EVERYONE in the town is sad... the rich man, took all the trees down, scraped the tennis courts out. let the elk die (no feeding for them or we would be fined, mind you the city fed them for 30 years, the sleigh ride went by daily for all the children to see,) and totally ruinled the place. The elk, last winter, would come into the parking lot and die...
enough.
BETTER subject. To arrive for Easter Brunch, would be , when they first open or 1 1/2 hours after...before church lets out. If you want to go for brunch, i suggest, go whenever, put in your reso and take a walk, or go into town for whatever. The wait will be long, but they will tell you. Tell Natalia, that you are a friend of Carlas and you said hello. Not sure if that will help, but won%26#39;t hurt.
Glad that you are coming to Ketchum, it will be beautiful weather...i have friends coming, the oldest friends i have and we plan on having a good ole time. untill then enjoy

That is a horrible story! I have RAVED about Warm Springs Ranch to anyone that will listen! So Sad. I remember barely being able to eat my dinner after stuffing my face with scones and honey butter washed down with red wine... those were the days...
If you worked there you must remember Dax C. He is a good friend of mine now living/wrking in Boise, his dad still lives down in Bellvue I beleive...
i sort of remember someone named Dex, you know, alot of people went through that resturant in my 16 years..it is one of the worst things to happen to SV...the golf course, with the ';thursday night scramble';, the golf course (gem of the west ) is slowly deteriorating...so sad....
I am so sad to hear about Warm Springs Ranch restaurant. That was our favorite place to eat when we came to Sun Valley. I can remember taking the bus over to the Warm Spring side from Elkhorn and from Ketchum. We would walk up the road from where the bus dropped us off.
that is why i loved to work there. eveyone h ad been there with their grandparents, children or for a wedding. everyone had a story. when i met my husband, he told the story of his children looking in the pond and feeding the fish. it is a true travesty what has happened. i think the mice are having a grand old time. in the meantime, the golf course is drying up...so sad....
