Summer activities in Sun Valley

I am trying to convince my husband that Sun Valley is just as fun in the summer as it is in the winter. Can anyone let me know more options and activities to do in and around the area in the summer? We also will be travelling with our 3.5 year old son who is pretty adventurous.

Thanks

DP

Summer activities in Sun Valley

Right in Sun Valley there are ice skating shows with world class skaters throughout the summer at the Sun Valley Lodge. There is also shopping, good food, and musical events. But to me, the best part of Sun Valley is that it is less than an hour from some of the most spectacular scenery in the West... the Sawtooth Mountains have beautiful lakes with paved road access (Redfish, Alturas, Stanley). The largest, Redfish, has miles of beach front, paddle boats, a campground, every level of hiking trail, and horseback riding for the most adventurous 3 1/2 year old and his parents!

If all you know of Sun Valley is its winter skiing, you%26#39;re missing more than half the fun! The Sun Valley symphony is worth the trip alone - kids and dogs are welcome. You can bring a beach chair, and a bottle of wine and listen to world-class music in the lovely setting of the Sun Valley resort. My family likes the hiking, fly fishing, biking (lots of both paved bike paths and unpaved mountain biking trails), para-gliding, horse back riding, etc. etc. Great sight-seeing in the Sawtooth National Recreation area. And lots of fun local events: free jazz concerts on Sunday evenings, a July 4th rodeo, art gallery walks, many antique fairs, a great arts and crafts festival, and lots of other musical events. It%26#39;s a casual town, and kids are welcome everywhere.
