Would like suggestions for activities with my niece & nephew

I%26#39;ll be visiting my sister%26#39;s family during my niece%26#39;s spring break, the week of 3/24. I%26#39;ll have my 13-year old niece and 3-year old nephew all to myself for several of the days.

I%26#39;d love suggestions as to fun things to do with them both together and separately (given their age/gender differences).

The family lives in Kuna, but I%26#39;ll be staying at the Hampton Inn in downtown Boise.

My niece and I discovered last time that we enjoy looking at the art galleries downtown. I%26#39;m thinking of taking her to the Boise art museum this time -- any thoughts on that? As for my nephew, he likes just about any activity as long as it%26#39;s not too scary. I also have them hooked on having hot chocolate at coffeehouses, so recommendations on that topic are also appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi

check out the Discovery Center downtown in Julia Davis Park you get to it off Myrtle Street right across from Winco.

I t is a hands on science center for all ages

but will probably be very busy because of spring break.

Julia Davis Park is home to Zoo Boise, the Boise Art Museum, and the Idaho Historical Museum, all worth a visit.

I agree with the Discovery Center -- my teenagers still love to go there.

On Fairview Avenue, there%26#39;s a recreation place called Pojo%26#39;s, with bumper cars, a carousel, and an arcade. I haven%26#39;t been to the current one -- I remember the old one, and how many quarters I spent on Ms. PacMan and Centipede! :)

Showing my age,

There is a district, ';Linen District'; that is a new and up coming area. Eyes of the World store is there, which has items from all over the world. Across the street is this new ';diner'; called, Donnie Mac%26#39;s Trailer Park Cusine. They have decorated it to the hilt and it is cute. In kind of a loft like setting. There is an old car in the middle, where you can eat inside. AND i thought the food was great. You can get yam fries with your sandwich or salad. This is fun for all. 1515 Grove, go a bit north from downtown. enjoy

here is a website...fun

Thanks everyone, for the great ideas so far! All of them sound fun -- can%26#39;t wait to go. Hopefully, your weather will make a quick turn toward Spring in the next few weeks!

The Hampton Inn is located in Bodo...are you familiar with it? It is a cutsy part of down town with a movie theatre, Tulley%26#39;s (great coffee shop), and fun trendy shops...even some art galleries, I believe. There is some fun right at your fingertips. Hope you have a great time!
