Driving through Idaho- SLC to West Yellowstone, MTDefinitely stop at Mesa Falls, on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, which parallels Hwy 20 near Ashton.
Driving through Idaho- SLC to West Yellowstone, MTLava Hot Springs!! I just made a stop there on a roadtrip and it was my favorite place. We stopped on our way from Salt Lake City to West Yellowstone. It is a VERY small town. You can tube on the river during the day, which is SO much fun. There is also a pool with slides and the hot springs are great. The THAI FOOD restaurant is delicious and super cheap. I would recommend it as a one night/day spot if you are looking for a small town that is relaxing and friendly.
