trip to Couer d'Alene

We are planning to visit Couer d Alene in October for 5 days. Two adults and a 7 and 4 year old. Also have a small dog. We want to visit silverwood and water parks for 1 or 2 days and hike and fish other days. Cannot find a vacation home or hotel that accomodates pets for a reasonable price (under 150/day). We can stay anywhere in the vicinity around the lake, would prefer not in the busy town business areas. any ideas? WE are coming from Portland and would like to know best route and any interesting sights along the way. Thanks so much.

Can%26#39;t provide much help on the hotel/home with a pet, Coeur d%26#39; Alene Chamber of Commerce has a good web site with tourist info including lodging - www.coeurdalene.org . Fastest route (but not much to see) to Coeur d%26#39; Alene would be Interstate 84 to Hermiston, Interstate 82 through Kennewick/Pasco to connect with Highway 395 to Interstate 90 at Ritzville onto Coeur d%26#39; Alene. An alternative scenic route but longer would be at Hermiston, take Highway 12 through Walla Walla onto Lewiston, Idaho to connect with US95 to Coeur d%26#39; Alene. Walla Walla has big wine industry, Lewiston sits on the junction of the Snake and Clearwater rivers, on US95 pass though Moscow, home of University of Idaho and center of the Palouse region, just south of Coeur d%26#39; Alene on US95 in Worley is the Coeur d%26#39; Alene Indian tribe casino. Unfotunately you won%26#39;t see much of Coeur d%26#39; Alene Lake until you are about in Coeur d%26#39; Alene.

I think Silverwood closes after Canadian Thanksgiving, which is October 8th this year. Also, they are not open during the week at this time of year. So, basically, as of today, they will be open Oct 7 %26amp; 8th and then closed for the year. Hope that fits into your schedule.
