Tenting around Coeur d'Alene

Anyone know of some inexpensive tenting campgrounds in or around Coeur d%26#39;Alene. I%26#39;ve stayed at Farragut and although it%26#39;s nice, I%26#39;d rather be a bit closer to Coeur d%26#39;Alene. We%26#39;re coming Aug 21-25. Thanks

Here%26#39;s a link with a list of campgrounds in the area. It will have the numbers to call for more information

I%26#39;m a terrible camper so I can%26#39;t give you any personal advice, but I can let you know which are the closest to Coeur d%26#39;Alene.

Blackwell Island is as close as you can get to the downtown area -- maybe 5 minutes, but I%26#39;m sure it feels like you%26#39;re farther away than that -- http://www.idahorvpark.com/

KOA is in the Wolf Lodge area, which is southeast of CdA (Farrragut was north). It%26#39;s about 30 minutes at most from Coeur d%26#39;Alene and in a pretty area -- http://www.koa.com/where/id/12106/index.htm

In the same area you have Wolf Lodge Campground -- http://www.wolflodgervcampground.com/

I think those might be your best bets. That first link has some more choices, but a lot of those are trailer parks in town and I don%26#39;t think you want to go there...

In addition to Kitk and Mimi%26#39;s info there is a US Forest Service Campground at Beauty Creek which is in the Wolf Lodge area, just off of Highway 97, south of Interstate 90, fairly close to Cda.
